With historic buildings surrounded by nature, Baden-Baden is a true jewel in the middle of the Black Forest. Discover this fascinating city with me and let my travel tips inspire you for your city trip to Baden-Baden. I was able to explore this enchanting city with a varied itinerary and discover its many facets. Baden-Baden is a wonderful place for a weekend trip, so I’m happy to tell you about my stay.

My weekend in Baden-Baden began with dinner. The Rizzi the Restaurant delighted us not only with its elegant atmosphere and beautiful garden, but also with a variety of culinary delights. From refined starters to delicate main courses and tempting desserts, the restaurant fulfils all culinary wishes. The salmon tartare was excellent, as was the pasta. An absolute recommendation from my side.

After dinner, a musical highlight awaited me: the Rose Concerts with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra in the Rose Novelty Garden. A unique experience in an almost magical atmosphere. The Rose Novelty Garden on the Beutig is a true paradise for flower lovers. Rose arches span the paths, beds and meadows overflow with colourful blossoms, and rose-lined arbours with their comfortable benches invite you to linger. The magnificent roses in all colours, wherever you look, truly transport you to another world.

After a restful night at Roomers Hotel Baden-Baden, I started the next day with a delicious breakfast that left nothing to be desired. Freshly prepared pancakes, fine coffee and a generous selection of different dishes offered the perfect start to the day.

Saturday began with a cultural highlight. So we made our way to the Museum Frieder Burda, which is known for its impressive collection of contemporary art. The current exhibition entitled “The King is Dead, Long Live the Queen” presented fascinating works of art and offered an insight into the world of modern art. With every step through the exhibition rooms, I discovered new perspectives and was thrilled by the creativity and diversity of the works. The Frieder Burda Museum building itself is also an architectural work of art.

After the visit to the museum, we had time to explore the city individually. A walk along Lichtentaler Allee took us past museums, grand hotels and idyllic gardens. The scent of flowers and the soothing sound of the nearby river accompanied us on our way to Lichtenthal Abbey, home to a Cistercian nunnery since 1245. On the way, the rose garden in the patronage complex invited us to take a relaxing break.

Another highlight was exploring the picturesque alleys of Baden-Baden’s old town and the spa district. You should not miss this under any circumstances. We took a coffee break at Kaffeesack, the coffee is excellent and is roasted by the in-house roastery, and I had a fine piece of banana bread to go with it. Not far from the café is the “Florentiner Berg” vantage point, from where we had a breathtaking panoramic view of Baden-Baden.

For those who like to shop in style, I have another great tip. The elegant Kurhaus Kolonnaden offers a stylish shopping experience in the exclusive shops. A visit to the Rumpelmayer confectionery is especially recommended, where you must take the famous Baden-Baden roulette balls as a sweet souvenir.

In the afternoon we went on a short hike. The Korbmattfelsen circular trail offers nature lovers a wonderful opportunity to explore the surroundings. Starting at the Tiergarten hiking portal, the hike took us on a moderate incline via the Dr.-Schlapper-Weg to the Hirschbrünnele. From our destination, the Korbmattfelsen, we were able to look out over the vast forests and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. This hike was a perfect opportunity to experience the beauty of the surroundings and enjoy the fresh air.

Another culinary highlight awaited me in the evening at the Kopp winery, where we were invited to a delicious dinner on the terrace of the ebanat restaurant. The winery itself impressed us not only with its beautiful location, but also with its first-class wine quality. Of course, I did not miss the opportunity to take some beautiful photos and videos in front of this dreamlike scenery. The restaurant ebanat offers the perfect combination of exquisite food and fine wines, so this evening provided unforgettable moments of pleasure. I recommend you try one of the wine menus – a real treat.

To end the Saturday evening in a fitting manner, we visited the Casino Baden-Baden. The casino is famous for its elegant ambience and its diverse range of games. We were enchanted by the atmosphere and the glamour of the gaming tables and dared to play one or the other game ourselves.

On Sunday morning, we started the day with wellness and a last breakfast at Roomers Hotel Baden-Baden. I can absolutely recommend this stylish hotel. From the spacious room to the spa area to the breakfast, the stay was just perfect. And if you have time, treat yourself to a delicious drink at the hotel’s rooftop bar.

As a crowning finale to our wonderful trip, we had the opportunity to play a round of golf at the Baden Hills Golf Course. The golf course provided a wonderful backdrop for a sporty and relaxed game. The green fairways and the facilities contributed to an unforgettable golf experience.

As you can see, my trip to Baden-Baden was a real treat for the senses. The elegant city delighted me with its combination of history, culture and nature. From the cultural highlights in the Frieder Burda Museum to the idyllic walks along Lichtentaler Allee to culinary delights and active experiences in nature, Baden-Baden offered a varied programme for every taste. I will always remember these unforgettable days in Baden-Baden and look forward to returning again soon. Because there is much more to discover, such as the beautiful thermal baths.

I hope I could give you some inspiration for your trip to Baden-Baden.
