Villa Oria Brusati – A dream on the shores of Lake Lugano

press trip

Last October, I spent an unforgettable weekend celebrating my birthday at Villa Oria Brusati, joined by Marvin, 13 close friends, and family members. Nestled by the stunning Lake Lugano, the villa offers not just a stay but an immersive experience, perfectly located between the picturesque regions of Italy and Switzerland. Here are my impressions of this unique property and its breathtaking surroundings.

An Architectural Gem

Just 200 meters past the Swiss border, this exquisite lakeside estate consists of two separate buildings: the grand Villa Napoleone and the charming Villa Darsena. Fun fact: Villa Brusati was once the residence of Napoleon’s favorite general.

Villa Napoleone – The Main House

Villa Brusati stands as a testament to refined living, offering five luxurious bedrooms in the main house and an additional three in the adjacent guesthouse. The guesthouse also features its own kitchen and living areas, perfect for visitors seeking a bit of extra privacy. With enough space for up to 16 guests, it’s an ideal setting for larger groups seeking to create lasting memories.

Inside, the villa strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and historic charm. One of the standout features is the fully equipped main kitchen, where I enjoyed preparing meals for my guests with fresh local ingredients. Think spacious countertops, a state-of-the-art stove, an oven, a coffee machine, and more.

Each morning, we were treated to a generous breakfast featuring regional delicacies – the perfect way to start our day.

Villa Darsena – A Maritime Retreat

The second house is also the boathouse and offered space for our friends. The modern furnishings with lovely details and the three bedrooms offered a great atmosphere with wonderful views of Lake Lugano.

Even large groups will always find a place to retreat to.

Comprehensive features and elegance

Villa Brusati not only impresses with its charm, but also with its modern furnishings, which are combined with traditional and exclusive furnishings and architecture. The villa has Wi-Fi, several TVs with Netflix access and a small outdoor fitness area. The garden and spacious terraces offer a great environment for sunbathing, relaxing and enjoying nature. A pizza oven and an outdoor lounge also invite you to linger. The different living areas are particularly valuable for families or larger groups, as they offer everyone the opportunity to organise their day individually.

A house for large groups and family celebrations

Thanks to the generous room layout and the three separate living areas, we were able to spend sociable evenings together as well as relax individually. In the main house there is a large living room with a grand piano, a stylish bar and a terrace that is perfect for drinks together at sunset. A second, slightly smaller living room with a fireplace and sofas was ideal for cosy movie nights or a relaxing reading experience. The spacious dining areas, available both indoors and outdoors, provided ample space for communal meals and birthday parties.

Private boat trips and lake access

Another highlight was the direct access to the lake and the villa’s private boat, which can be used by guests. For example, to discover the surrounding villages and small bays from the water. This exclusivity gives the stay a special touch and offers guests the opportunity to explore the region around Lake Lugano from the water.

Activities and excursions in the surrounding area

The surroundings of Villa Brusati are as enchanting as they are varied. The nearby Valsolda Nature Park invites you to go hiking in idyllic countryside, while the charming city of Lugano in Switzerland is just a few kilometres away. The Italian town of Porlezza, just 8 km from the villa, offers shopping facilities, boutiques and restaurants serving regional specialities. On Lake Como, which is also within easy reach, the famous Menaggio attracts visitors with its magnificent villas and the splendid botanical gardens of Villa Carlotta.

Conclusion – An unforgettable stay with lasting memories

Villa Oria Brusati on Lake Lugano is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a luxurious property for an unforgettable weekend with the family, as a couple, with a large group or for a special event. The combination of charming architecture, luxurious furnishings and breathtaking location directly on the lake creates an extraordinary atmosphere. For us, it was an unforgettable birthday and a weekend to remember thanks to the special location, unique architecture and exclusive access to the lake.

So if you are looking for special accommodation for an event or a larger group, I can highly recommend Villa Brusati – memories are created here that will last a lifetime. We will definitely be visiting again in the summer, as Marvin now has his boating licence and it was a bit too cold for us to swim in the lake at the end of October.
