Travelguide Schaffhausen: My top 3 places

Schaffhausen is the capital of the canton of the same name and with its historic buildings as well as the cozy charm worth a trip. Today I would like to show you my highlights of our stay.

Munot – landmark of the city

You should not miss the Munot – the landmark of the city of Schaffhausen. It is a circular fortress, which still reminds us of past times. In the moat today there is also a deer park. It is worth tackling the many steps to the Munot, which was built in the 16th century. From there you can also take wonderful souvenir photos.

Rose garden

Just now in June the roses are blooming again in large numbers. Next to the Munot is the rose garden of Schaffhausen. This beautiful rose garden offers at the same time a breathtaking view over the whole city and is suitable as a unique photo location. By the way, you can see the church tower in the background. After the excursion to the Munot and the rose garden, it is worthwhile to take a leisurely stroll through the small town with its many historic buildings. On Saturdays there is also a weekly market. Furthermore, many restaurants and cafes invite you to stay and enjoy.

Rhine Falls

Not in Schaffhausen itself but close by is the Rhine Falls, which connects Switzerland with Germany. The Rhine Falls is not just any waterfall, it is one of the three largest waterfalls in Europe. Definitely this natural spectacle is worth a trip. I have already visited the Rhine Falls as a child and can also recommend a boat trip, but beware you might get wet. On a nice summer day this is of course a refreshing cooling.

Now I wish you a lot of fun while discovering Schaffhausen!
