A weekend of pleasure with a view of the Matterhorn: Resort Hotel Alex Zermatt

An unforgettable weekend at the Resort Hotel Alex Zermatt lies behind me, a place of indulgence run with great dedication by the host family. I am happy to share insights from my stay at this unique hotel.

The Deluxe Suite: A dream with a view of the Matterhorn

My weekend at Resort Hotel Alex began with my arrival in a Deluxe Suite that left nothing to be desired. The suite was spacious and luxuriously furnished with great attention to detail. The separate living area, desk and balcony offered fantastic views of the majestic Matterhorn. The bathroom is equipped with a whirlpool bath and private steam bath shower. The room furnishings are individually designed, guaranteeing each guest a unique experience.

I instantly felt at home in this spacious suite.

Wine & Dine at Resort Hotel Alex

During my stay at the Resort Hotel Alex Zermatt, I had the pleasure of dining at the Alex Grill restaurant twice. This restaurant in the heart of Zermatt offers a diverse selection of dishes conjured up from fresh ingredients and creative ideas. The grill specialities are particularly well-known, but there is also an impressive selection for vegetarians and vegans.

The culinary experience has been enriched by the passion and kitchen philosophy of Frédéric Fischer. He combines Valaisan and Alsatian cuisine in a sophisticated way and uses high-quality, local products. The diversity of Valais products is reflected in his dishes, which are traditional, authentic and southern Mediterranean. The attention to detail and the high quality of the food at Resort Hotel Alex made a lasting impression on me. I am happy to let the pictures speak for themselves.

Recreation and sports at the hotel

Resort Hotel Alex offers a wide range of leisure facilities to make your stay even more active. The 380m2 wellness area with a 15×20 metre swimming pool with massage jets, air bubble loungers and a separate whirlpool is the perfect place to relax. Rumour has it that it is the most beautiful swimming pool in Zermatt, and I can only agree, the mural is absolutely unique. The hotel also offers massage and beauty treatments, Finnish saunas, an experience shower, an infrared seat and a steam bath. For sports enthusiasts, there is an indoor tennis court, a squash court and a well-equipped gym.

The Bodega Bacchus: a paradise for wine lovers

Although I didn’t eat there during my stay, I had the opportunity to take a look at the Bodega Bacchus, which is known as probably the most luxurious wine cellar in Zermatt. The atmosphere of this wine cellar is simply fascinating. Just like the countless fine wines that are stored there. Rumour has it that you can hear the ghosts of the bottles haunting the walls, and the décor is truly impressive.

Up to 22 people can enjoy Valais specialities, gourmet menus and selected wines from all over the world in a private atmosphere.

Breakfast in the breakfast room

Surrounded by numerous images of the Matterhorn, breakfast at Resort Hotel Alex is enjoyed on the ground floor in a beautifully appointed breakfast room. Only breakfast is served here. You can also taste the quality at breakfast, as the hosts attach great importance to regionality and the highest quality.

Lounge & Bar

The Lounge & Bar at Resort Hotel Alex Zermatt is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing moment, whether before or after dinner. Tradition meets timeless elegance in the “Scottish Corner” of this lounge. Here you will find a carefully sorted selection of whiskies that will impress even the most discerning connoisseur. The cosy seating areas invite you to taste your favourite whisky in peace while enjoying the ambience.

The “place to be” in the Lounge & Bar is where guests meet to chat in pleasant company. The Smoker’s Corner offers a special zone for cigar lovers to enjoy their cigar in peace.

The story behind the hotel

The Resort Hotel Alex Zermatt is not only a place of luxury and indulgence, but also a place with a rich history. The host family, who run the hotel with great passion, have made the hotel a jewel in the Zermatt hotel industry. The combination of charismatic hospitality and a unique atmosphere makes this hotel a very special place.

The Resort Hotel Alex Zermatt is a place where hospitality and quality are top priorities. If you are looking for a place where you can be completely pampered while enjoying the beauty of the Swiss Alps, Resort Hotel Alex is the perfect choice.
