Baselworld 2017 – The Watch and Jewelry Show PART 1

The Watch and Jewelry Show Baselworld took place for the 100th time in Basel at the end of March. Of course I could not miss this, I would love to share my impressions with you. In my first part I would like to give you an overview of Baselword, in a second part I will devote myself to the new collections of my favorite brands. Anyone who is following my Instastories will, of course, already got some impressions. Because with some selected watch brands I was even allowed to an exclusive presentation in the Separee.

 

About Baselworld

 

At Baselworld, the most important players in the jewelery and watch industry from all over the world have been found for 100 years. Experts from all over the world meet here to feel the pulse of the industry, to be inspired by the groundbreaking innovations and creations – many of them world champions – and to discover new trends. The press representatives are also numerous. I also met a few journalists at the press center (the café for journalists and others, if you like). Asian television shows were filmed directly in front of the exhibitors.

 

My Impressions

 

The exhibition hall and the exhibition stands have been giant, especially the big companies have even big presentation houses within the hall. At most booths (show houses) the pieces of the new collection are displayed behind glass, because the fair is open to interested people for an entrance fee. But there are also brands that do not exhibit their pieces so publicly. All the big names from the watch / jewelery and fashion world are represented at Baselworld.

 

 

Before I’m going to show you a few pieces from the showcases, I would like to show you the top trends which I personally could get to know in the Separee of the respective brands.

 

Gucci

 

 

These three models clearly belong to my favorites at Gucci, I like the range with the animal motifs. The classic watch in pillow shape with the Gucci colors is in my opinion looks so classy. The universe around the wrist is carried with the third clock. More on the watches follows in part 2 of the report.

 

Fendi

 

 

Fendi has not only nice bags to offer, but also the watches are super pretty and have their own style. At the first clock, the stones can be changed, with a turn you switch from pink to white or black gem stones. A big theme are also flowers but more about them in part 2.

 

 Tissot / Frederique Constant / Alpina

 

 

Also the novelties of Tissot / Frederique Constant and Alpina I will show you soon a bit closer. These two watches 2 and 3 are both smartwatches of the other kind.

 

Smaller Brands: Charriol / Louis Erard / Pierre Deroche

 

 

These brands mostly rely on a family business, which makes them particularly appealing. Another advantage, not everyone knows the brand and the question “Where is this piece from?” will be heard frequently.

 

The show

 

Several halls full of pretty watches and jewelery, I could show you here thousands of pictures, but for practical reasons I let it be. Here are two particularly nice pieces that I saw during my walk through the halls.
