Active days at the Wilder Kaiser in Tyrol

This year I went to the Wilder Kaiser region in Tyrol during my autumn holidays. The four Kaiser locations Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll are located in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve. On a journey of discovery I went to Ellmau to the Hotel Kaiserhof and to Söll to the Postwirt, from there it took me to hiking trails and to the golf course. Today I am happy to tell you a little more about my stay and the numerous activities that are especially possible in autumn around Wilder Kaiser.

Hexenwasser

The beautiful mountains invite you to numerous possible hiking routes. One of the excursion destinations in Söll is the Hexenwasser. There are two beautiful hiking trails to Hexenwasser, one of the two leads past the unique rock chapel, the other first leads to the a Waterfall. However, if you want to save energy for later, the new Hexenwasser gondola takes you up to the top within a few minutes. The Hohe Salve gondola lift is also open and invites you to discover the unique mountain panorama. After a good 1.5 hours of hiking we reached Hexenwasser from the parking lot of the gondola lift.

At Hexenwasser there is an adventure park for young and old. Ambitious hikers can fortify themselves in the restaurant and then hike to the top of the Hohe Salve. The Hohe Salve is a panoramic mountain between Kufstein, Wörgl and Kitzbühel in Tyrol. It is one of the Kitzbühel Alps and is even nicknamed the Rigi Tyrol. After a short break and some panorama pictures, I went downhill by foot again, while I enjoyed nature and the wonderful view of the village of Söll.

Golfing at Wilden Kaiser

My golfer’s heart was not disappointed by the Wilder Kaiser region either. With the four Kitzbühel golf courses and seven other golf courses within an hour’s drive, a varied game of golf in the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps is guaranteed. My visit to the 27-hole golf course Wilder Kaiser at the foot of the impressive mountain range not only gave was so much fun. I also enjoyed incomparable panoramic views during our tee time. This 27-hole golf course is divided into 3 excellent 9-hole courses for all skill levels: Wilder Kaiser course, Ellmau course and Tyrol course. I played the Tirol course with 9 holes. Those who also reside in one of the partner hotels will receive a 30% discount on the green fee. The Hotel Kaiserhof is one of the numerous partner hotels. For golfers there are also great golf packages to discover for the perfect stay.

Hintersteiner See

The Hintersteiner See invites you to take a short afternoon hike. The natural bathing lake Hintersteiner invites you to discover not only in summer. The one-hour circular hike rewards you with a unique panorama of the Wilder Kaiser. The view wanders to the peaks of the Scheffauer and Treffauer. The path leads over paved roads, forest paths and along the promenade. The autumn colors can also be admired. The lake lies at an altitude of 883 m and has an area of 0.55 km². On the circular hiking trail you can watch animals and let your thoughts wander. The special color of the lake makes it one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol. On my way I even spotted a snake in the wild.

I hope you enjoyed my little trip to the Wilder Kaiser region. There are of course numerous other activity options, such as e-biking, mountaineering, skiing in winter, winter hiking and swimming in summer. We also visited the Kaiserbad, which offers numerous slides and indoor and outdoor adventure pools, as well as climbing in the climbing hall or tennis in the tennis hall. As you can see, there is really a lot to discover.
