Vor kurzem war ich an einem ganz besonderen Event, dem Snow Polo World Cup 2020 in St. Moritz. Gespielt wird auf dem zugefrorenen See von St. Moritz im Schnee. Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein bereitete uns der Besuch am Finaltag besonders viel Freude.
St. Moritz ist nämlich seit 1985 Gastgeber des weltweit bedeutendsten Snow Polo Turnier. Der Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz ist nicht nur das erste Snow Polo Turnier überhaupt, sondern auch das einzige „High Goal“-Poloturnier, das auf Schnee gespielt wird. Der Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz wird in einer wunderschönen Naturkulisse ausgetragen und verbreitet eine einzigartige Atmosphäre auf und neben dem Spielfeld. Eine exquisite Auswahl an Gourmet-Essen sowie eine Reihe von gesellschaftlichen Veranstaltungen in den erstklassigen Hotels von St. Moritz warten auf die Turnierbesucher und VIPs. Im VIP-Zelt wurden wir dabei mit Leckereien und Desserts von Sprüngli verwöhnt.
Wir haben uns das spannende Halb- und Finalspiel angeschaut. Im Finale hat Team St. Moritz zum ersten Mal den Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz gewonnen. Im Entscheidungsmatch siegten die Lokalmatadoren gegen Captain Valery Mishchenko und seine Equipe das Team Azerbaijan Land of Fire.
In den Pausen nutzten wir die Gelegenheit und statteten dem Stand von Mauritius Tourismus einen Besuch ab, denn sie sind einer der Hauptsponsoren des Snow Polo World Cup. Zudem steht Mauritius schon seit langem, ganz oben auf meiner Travelbucketlist. Nebst Champagner und tollen Reiseinspirationen, gab es einen Wettbewerb für die Besucher.
Ein einzigartiger Event fand hierbei einen wundervollen Abschluss. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle auch an Mauritius Tourismus für die Einladung an den Snow Polo World Cup in St. Moritz.
