At last I feel at home on my balcony now. Before I started this transformation, our balcony was never really used. Very bad, I thought to myself, something urgently needs to change. The floor actually \u00a0needed a new touch the most. On the website of IKEA<\/a>\u00a0then I found great floor tiles.<\/p>\n

But before I can show you the result, I have to show you the before picture and the way to the new beautiful balcony (which is now one of the nicest in the neighborhood).<\/p>\n

Yes, unfortunately a very bleak sight offers the fore-image. Before I redesigned the balcony, he was cleaned by my boyfriend with a pressure washer. Since I live in an older house, not all traces of the time were removable.<\/p>\n

After thoroughly wiping the floor again, it was time to get to work. First I laid floor tiles\u00a0RUNNEN<\/a> from IKEA – on the website of IKEA you will find a guide, with which you can calculate how many packages of floor tiles you need for your balcony or garden. The bottom plates can be easily clicked in each other. First I laid out the entire floor with the plates.<\/p>\n

Since the bottom plates left margins, we sawed the remaining parts with a jigsaw. Even just after laying the floor, the balcony looked a lot nicer. Then we assembled the\u00a0ASKHOLMEN<\/a>\u00a0table and set up the matching folding chairs. Then afterwards the plant stand\u00a0SALLADSK\u00c5L <\/a>had to be assembled and screwed on to the wall.<\/p>\n

Then I placed all flowers and herbs. At IKEA I found\u00a0this cute citrus tree<\/u><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and ivy. Also the beautiful lavendar bush<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0rosemary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I even found my new olive tree at IKEA. Matching with planters SOCKER<\/a>\u00a0and a plant stand\u00a0SOMMAR 2018<\/a>. The greening of the balcony beautifies this again tremendously. It is important to check whether the plants are suitable for outdoors and what preferences – much or little sun – they have.<\/p>\n

Also textiles may not be missing on the balcony. The seat cushions\u00a0H\u00c5LL\u00d6<\/a>. ensure comfortable sitting. On balmy summer evenings, a pretty plaid<\/a> ike this one is just the right choice. And why not adding a\u00a0carpet<\/a> on the balcony? \u00a0Interestingly, as I shopped for outdoor-friendly materials, I couldn\u2019t help but think about the importance of durability and weather-resistance\u2014qualities that are crucial not just for textiles but for any exterior home improvement.
