The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa: A relaxing weekend in Tschiertschen

press trip

A time-out in the mountains, what could be nicer? Last weekend I was allowed to visit The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa in Tschiertschen. This gorgeous hotel is not only located right next to the snow piste, but also offers culinary delights and pure relaxation. Today I would like to tell you more about my relaxing weekend at The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa in Tschiertschen.

The Hotel

The Alpina Resort is located in the mountain village of Tschiertschen in Canton Graubünden, just 10 kilometres from Chur. It consists of two hotels – The Alpina Lodge and The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa. The Alpina Mountain Resort & SPa offers 20 stylish double rooms and 7 suites. We were allowed to stay in the beautiful Attica Junior Suite. The Boutique Hotel is located at 1’360 m.a.s.l. and is a member of Romantik Hotels.

The Junior Suite

I really felt more than welcome in the cosy and modern junior suite. One of my personal highlights was the spacious balcony with a wonderful view of the mountain landscape. At The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa, comfort is truly a top priority. Wonderfully relaxed, I was able to start the day after a relaxed night. I also really like the rustic roof beams, which give the hotel room its very own charm – almost like in a luxurious mountain hut.

Culinary delights

Slow Food Ambassador Lukas Pfaff is responsible for the culinary delights at The Alpina Resort & Spa. He cooks according to the philosophy “from nose to tail” and with selected products from the region, which are refined with a hint of Mediterranean joie de vivre – and you can taste it! In The Alpina you will find the “Panorama Restaurant” with 60 seats, the romantic restaurant “La Belle Époque” with 60 seats and the “Tropaios Lounge” – as well as the “Panorama Bar” and the “Smokers Lounge”. The “Tropaios Lounge” received 14 GaultMillau points shortly after its opening in 2018.

The Dinner

We enjoyed our dinner on the first evening in the Panorama Restaurant with an excellent 3-course dinner. On the second evening we dined at “La Belle Époque” it really spreads the charm of past days. In addition to regional and classic dishes, you will find a variety of Asian dishes. My personal highlights were the delicious glass noodle salad with tofu and the chicken in red curry – simply delicious.

The Breakfast

A good into the day is a top priority at The Alpina Resort & Spa. A variety of delicacies can therefore be found at the breakfast buffet, from croissants and fresh fruit to meat and cheese, everything is of the best quality. Accompanied by a fabulous Bircher muesli and homemade cake. Moreover, I could not miss the freshly prepared egg dishes.

Shan Spa

Pure relaxation offers the Shan Spa with Finnish steam bath, bio sauna, infrared sauna, Kneipp pool, Via Mala thunderstorm path, a whirlpool with outdoor bubble loungers and a relaxation room. I can then recommend you to book a relaxing full body massage, which I was allowed to enjoy at the end of my wonderful stay. The Alpina Resort & Spa then offers different other body and cosmetic treatments with natural product lines from Alpienne in Tyrol/Austria and Babor in Germany.

So if you are looking for a unique experience and relaxation in the mountains, I can warmly recommend The Alpina Resort & Spa to you. In particular, an overnight stay in winter is suitable for winter sports away from mass tourism and in summer as a starting point for hikes in the untouched mountain nature – and this only about 75 minutes away from Zurich. In addition, as a culinary enthusiast, you are of course in good hands and nothing stands in the way of a romantic weekend for two.

Finally, I would like to thank the friendly hosts Michael and Marlies Gehring for their hospitality.
