Tulips from Amsterdam – but of course not in October. Nevertheless, for my birthday, as a present to myself, I took a weekend trip to Amsterdam with my loved ones. We discovered some beautiful places which I don’t want to withhold from you. If you plan a trip to Amsterdam, you will surely find one or the other idea.
First of all the canals called “Grachten” belong to the absolute must see in Amsterdam. Here you will also find all kinds of photo spots.
The train station of Amsterdam with its extraordinary architecture is also very beautiful. Characteristic for the architecture of Amsterdam are gabled buildings in all imaginable designs. The canals used to be the main traffic routes of Amsterdam. Special are also the many houseboats, which you can see especially during a round trip. The narrow houses along the canals, which present themselves in different colours, are also just unique.
Don’t miss the flower market, especially the first of the many flower shops with dried and fresh flowers in full splendour is worth a visit. If you have a garden at home, you can also enjoy a great variety of different flower bulbs to take home.
Everywhere in Amsterdam there are great photo spots – I am an absolute fan of the unique vibe of this city. In any case, you should plan enough time to stroll through the city and visit the different districts. Everywhere you will find small boutiques, art shops and cafés.
On my to-do-list for the weekend trip to Amsterdam was to enjoy a freakshake. After an internet research I became aware of the Café ree7. The freakshake was very tasty, but I didn’t make it alone.
Near the station there is a wonderful promenade with the typical houses, this beautiful church. Besides, there are tourist boats. Although I am basically not a fan of such tourist attractions, I can warmly recommend a Canal Cruise. During the trip through the canals you will learn some interesting facts about Amsterdam.
In the evening you should visit the SkyLounge Amsterdam. Besides great finger food and delicious drinks, you can enjoy a unique view over the city.
