Weekendtrip to Ascona-Locarno

 

Recently I visited Ascona-Locarno it’s located in the most sunny part of Switzerland, Ticino. Ticino offers a mix of Swiss and Italian influences. Today I want to show you what Ascona-Locarno has to offer.

 

 

We were allowed to stay in Ascona. At Hotel Parkhotel Delta.The Parkhotel Delta has a wonderful and large park with lots of green space. There is a natural pond, an outdoor pool, a mini golf course, a football and volleyball court and for the little ones to discover a large playground. The fitness as well as the wellness area with jacuzzi and sauna are beautifully designed. You can also splash around in the indoor pool. You will also find a nice restaurant and a bar in the hotel. The Parkhotel Delta is a very well equipped 4-star hotel. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The whole area is very well managed and is very stylish. The rooms and bathrooms are generous.

 

 

 

We drove to Ascona on Saturday morning and checked in at Parkhotel Delta. For lunch we drove to Locarno, this is a very short drive of 5-10 minutes away. There we found a great pizzeria right on the lake. The pizza was really excellent and it was huge. After lunch, we walked along the lake, with wonderful spring weather.

 

 

The promenade of Locarno is nicely designed, a nice mix of palm trees and trees. Add to that the breathtaking views of the mountains and Lake Maggiore. Without hectic, we could enjoy the first real sunshine of this spring.

 

 

In Locarno you will find small parks, fountains and many beautiful palm trees. Especially the palms did it to me, I could get used to it. Not to be missed is of course a gelati in an ice cream parlor.

 

 

Here is a picture of a palm tree in Locarno, I just had to show you this picture because it conveys a holiday feeling. And so is Ascona-Locarno, although we drove only two hours by car, this friendly place exudes holiday flair par excellence.

 

 

On Saturday evening we went to the Parkhotel Delta after a short break and a styling fresh up. For dinner at the Hotel Eden Roc Ascona. There we enjoyed a delicious 4 course meal with a chocolate finish. It was excellent, I can really recommend it to you for a wonderful dinner.

 

 

You should not miss the Termali Salini & Spa, it is fantastic and relax it is also wonderful there. We enjoyed our weekend trip to Ascona-Locarno very much and are sure that we will go to Ascona-Locarno again in summer.
