Recently I received a package with the highlighting products from Smashbox. I tested them and would like to share some highlighting tips with you as well, because I love Highlighter and use it daily.
The two highlighting pallets were developed together with the Youtube star Casey Holmes.
Smashbox – Spotlight Palette Gold
This palette is the darker of the two available ones and sets intense highlights on bright skin color. The color does not crumble and is super pigmented, so it can be applied already at the first time sufficient.
The colors are going in the golden shades, do not let your light sunglasses distract you ^ ^
The shades can be applied alone or in combination with each others.
Smashbox – Spotlight Palette Pearl
The colors of this palette have a cooler undertone than the others and go into the rose. This palette sets beautiful natural highlights, especially for light skin. Also here the colors are very high quality, do not crumble and can be applied wonderfully.
Again, please do not let my sun burnt distract you. The colors are subtler than those of the gold range.
The shades can be applied alone or in combination.
Smashbox – Photo Finish Foundation Primer
The photo finish primer in Radiance is moisturizing, leaving pores, fine lines and bumps disappear and radiate the complexion. Apply with the fingertips thin under the make-up. Can also be used as a selective highlighter.

Smashbox – Step by Step Contour Stick Illuminate
The stick can be used to set very specific highlights and to create strobing effects. On the nasal arch, the armor arch, above the cheekbones, and under the brows.
Highlighting tips
- Basically you should use the highlighter sparingly. Except of course you like the Instagram Extreme Glow. However, the face should not glitter all over. Therefore, start sparingly.
- No more than two to three spots in the face should be emphasized by highlighting. Otherwise, it quickly looks overloaded.
- It is also important to blend the edges softly. Because hard contours make lighting scenarios look very artificial.
- The classic highlighter should be about a shade brighter than the skin color. Often, however, the highlighter is combined with a bronze effect, of course then it is darker.

Den Photo Finish Primer habe ich ja schon länger ins Visier genommen. Den werde ich mir sicherlich über kurz oder lang auch zulegen.
