IKEA DIY hack: Make your furniture more elegant in 5 Minutes

Much of our furniture is from IKEA, why? The furniture is classic, contemporary and inexpensive. In addition, this basic furniture can be individualized in a few simple steps. Today I would like to show you a super simple but effective DIY idea. This can be implemented in 5 minutes and turns e.g. your IKEA Hemnes chest of drawers into an eye-catcher.

For this quick and easy DIY, first look for new handle knobs according to your taste. I opted for these stylish and noble handles in marble look, because I think the contrast skillfully highlights the dark wood of our Hemnes bedside table. Incidentally, I found these handles on AliExpress for CHF 1.50 each – if you have a little patience I can warmly recommend you to order them there. Alternatively, you can of course also repaint the existing handles, e.g. with a gold spray.

Now I have a previous picture for you – I already liked the bedside table before, but I think the dark handles look a bit gloomy. And then I like the after picture a lot better. The handles can easily be unscrewed from the inside and replaced with the new ones. I think the effect is great. Since I was enthusiastic about the idea, I also got matching handles for my IKEA Hemnes dressing table, which is also in the bedroom. Here’s the before and after:

I hope you enjoyed the short and easy DIY. Incidentally, I have already subjected my IKEA Hemnes dressing table to a DIY by wrapping the table top with marble foil and then reassembling the glass cover.
