Last weekend I spent in the Bernese Oberland, in the beautiful Grindelwald. During my stay in Grindelwald I was allowed to reside in the Hotel Belvedere. I would like to tell you more about my weekend trip.
The Hotel
The Hotel Belevedere is situated in a unique location and offers a breathtaking view of the mountains – especially the Eiger. The name Belvedere, meaning beautiful view, says it all. Upon arrival, I immediately felt at home, the extremely friendly staff gave me a warm welcome. Guests have been well looked after in the family-run hotel since 1904. In addition, the Hotel Belvedere attaches great importance to sustainability. Energy is sourced from Swiss hydroelectric plants and heat from Holzwärme Grindelwald, both of which are CO2 neutral.
But the Hotel Belvedere offers much more than a wonderful view. In the bar you can enjoy a welcome drink or play a game of billiards – of course also with a wonderful view. In the afternoon, cake is served free of charge, which can also be enjoyed right next to the cozy fireplace.
Our Room
Especially when traveling, I am always very happy about a comfortable bed and a cozy room. At the Hotel Belvedere, there were both for me to enjoy right away. A total of 56 rooms and suites for up to 9 people each form the perfect vacation or weekend domicile.
On the balcony in our room I had a fantastic view of the Eiger – this is really breathtaking, isn’t it?
Culinary delights
A delicious and varied breakfast is the perfect start to the day. The breakfast buffet in the Hotel Belvedere could more than inspire me. Whether fresh pancakes, scrambled eggs, croissants, fruits and much more – provide for a delicious strengthening.
Wellness
After an action-packed and eventful day in Grindelwald, it was time for me to relax. This, of course, in the spa area of the Hotel Belvedere. Sauna, steam bath or brine whirlpool invite you to relax. In the spacious pool you can swim wonderful lanes or relax on the comfortable loungers next to it. The Finnish sauna and the glacier steam bath offer even more spa experience. In the heat tunnel (45-50 degrees) the whole family can relax together. Afterwards, the adventure showers with ice mist or tropical rain will cool you down.
